Your 2023-2024 PTA Board

Secretary:

My name is Derrina Brown, feel free to call me Dee. I’m the mother of Jayla Brown. Jayla is my youngest of 3. Jayla is a 4th grader at Stoney Creek and has been a student since Kindergarten. We have made many connections with the staff, teachers, students, and parents throughout the years, and are truly happy to be a part of the Stoney Creek family. I’m exceptionally excited to be a part of the PTA this year. I am committed to getting to know everyone and working together to make this a great school year for all the students and their families.

Treasurer

My name is Ingrid Ventura-Parker. I have one son currently in Kindergarten at Stoney Creek. I also have another little boy who is 2.5 and in preschool. This is our first year at Stoney Creek and we already love the teachers, students, and community. I served in the PTA at University Meadows in the previous year. I really enjoyed being able to help at my child’s school and doing my part to make the school a better and safer place for all the students. I also enjoy being able to spoil my child’s teachers, as well as other teachers. I wholeheartedly believe teachers do the Lord’s work.

I am active with our church, University City UMC. I am also on the administrative team for a local mom’s playdate group. We organize weekly meetups, a time for moms to meet and socialize with other moms while our young children make friends and play in a safe environment.

Vice President

My name is Sheron Lilly, and my wonderful husband is Harrison Lilly, Jr. I am a stay-at-home mom to five wonderful children… Kamoni 16, Caylani 16, Harrison III 6, Honor 3, and our very last addition to our family, Hendrix who is 1 year of age. I am very outgoing, family-oriented, fun, and very invested in the lives of my children. In my free time, I enjoy online shopping and all things interior design, but I mostly just find peace in relaxing. I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC but as a young child always dreamed of living a city girl life in the big NYC. Though I don’t foresee that, I do plan to visit very soon!

Some of my favorite things are seafood, Chinese food, Chick-fil-A, and City BBQ, although I’m always down for a good salad; white, black, and sometimes royal blue; Gucci Flora and Chanel Chance perfumes; and the movie Home Alone! My favorite holiday is Christmas! So much so, that I always put my tree up and start decorating at the end of October and leave it in place until the end of January, sometimes February! I'm a very simple and easygoing person, just living the crazy hustle and bustle, or beautiful chaos as I like to call it, every day. I am honored to serve as the Vice President of Stoney Creek’s PTA.

President

Hi Stoney Creek family! I am Chelsea Sanders. My experience with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System began in 1993 when my oldest daughter started kindergarten. Except for three years, my family and I have been members of the CMS family since. We joined the Stoney Creek family in 2016 when my youngest son started kindergarten. He has since transitioned to middle school; however, my youngest daughter remains and is currently a fourth grader.

This is
my second term as Stoney Creek’s PTA President. I serve as a member of Stoney Creek's School Improvement Team, a committee chair at Piedmont IB Middle School, and a participant on CMS's Title I Family and Community Advisory Council. Additionally, I am a proud member of the Black Child Development Institute - Carolinas (BCDI) and Mocha Moms, Inc.

Being active in my children's educational journey is extremely important to me. I believe that greatness lies within every child. Therefore, I am intentional about remaining engaged, volunteering, and collaborating with teachers, educators, familiesand community leaders to nurture the development and success of not only my children but all children.
